"THE FAMILY PRAYS TOGETHET, STAY TOGETHER"
Christianity in India- St. Thomas the Apostol in India
Exhibition by Dr. Péter Hajtó (Ph.D.)

Dear Reader,
Greetings.
It was a great experience for me to learn about the roots, history of Christianity in India, through my travellings in India.
I had been visitng South-India, Kerala, Tamil Nadu where even today Christianity exists.
I have met Bishops of Delhi, Goa, Trivandrum, Mylapore-Madras, prists, the christian communities of India.
I`m very thankful for the Bishop of Mylapore, who has given me the information on Apostol St. Thomas, who came to India by the Arabian traders and started to spread Christianity in Kerala and Tamil Nadu. He had established seven churches in the region.
St. Thomas was very successful, specially among the poor people.
Unfortunatelly the Brahmins didn`t like his success and killed him, martyred himin Mylapore, the old town of Madras.
The St. Thomas Church, the place where St. Thomas lived are places for pilgrimers from the international Christian world.
Even late John Pal, the Pope had been visitnf Mylapore and prayed there.
If you are in India, I very much recommend for you to visit and look for the roots of Christianity in India.
Of course, here I have to recall my visit and meeting with Mother Theresa in Calcutta and Dr. Edit Tömöry, Franciscan Sister in Madras.
Mother Theresa, she was a very charismatic person, she said: " The Family prays together, stay together".
I have prepared for you this small exhibition, my visions as a drop from the huge culuture of India.
On the eve of X-Mass I wish for you and your families Merry X-Mass, peace, calm, harmony, love&light.
Also I remember by this exhibition for my beloved Father, who had been passed away recently.
Dear Reader, if you have any questions please do not hesitate to contact me.
Yours:
